UNAIDS Modes of Transmission Study in 6 African countries. This project aimed to determine the epidemiology of recent HIV infections in each country and to use the information to align prevention strategies accordingly. October 2007 - November 2008.

Epidemiology of infectious diseases in the Lesotho Highlands. Contract No: 1204 with the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority. Contracted by the HSRC (Human Sciences Research Council) from August 2005 to May 2006.

Lesotho Highlands Development Authority Contract 1010. R3.5 million. This study entailed conducting a baseline epidemiology and medical services survey on a rural population and workforce in the remote mountains of Lesotho.

South Africa's First Population-Based HIV/AIDS Behavioural Risks, Sero-Status, and Mass Media Impact Survey, (SABSSM), 2002. R5 million. Collaboration with the HSRC and CADRE. Completion date: November 2002.

Designing and Piloting a National STD/HIV/AIDS Surveillance System for the Department of Health: R 1.5 million. The South African surveillance system for these diseases is based on the design submitted to the Ministry of Health as part of this contract.
